Liverpool dressmaker Thelma Madine has created a dress made entirely from human hair. The size 6 dress, which took eight people over 300 hours to complete, uses 250 metres of hair and weighs 15 stone (95kg). Eight designers from Thelma's dress shop Nico's Dressmakers, which featured on the Channel Four series My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, spent 12 days making the dress. The dress with a price tag of more than £50,000 includes 1500 crystals and 12 underskirts.

A bolt of lightning strikes the sea near Pula, Croatia. Amateur photographer and full time shipbuilder, Matija Sculac, 35, did not have to travel far to catch his favourite extreme weather - these lightning shows happened on his doorstep. Matija carefully monitors local weather each day for the slightest hint of a lighting storm and when one breaks he travels to his favourite spots to capture the action.
